Offshore West Africa Operator Saves Rig Time

The challenge
This African operator needed to isolate their reservoir to enable key operations such as packer setting, pressure testing, and tree installation — without post-installation intervention. The well had a total depth of 2600 meters and a bottomhole temperature
of 340°F.
The solution
A 4.5" Fantom™ multi-functional barrier, rated to 10,000 psi and 340°F was installed in a shear-open configuration. This provided effective pressure isolation during the upper completion operations.
When the well was ready for flow, the barrier was opened by applying tubing pressure, shearing at the predefined setting without the need for any intervention. This delivered genuine full-bore ID and a reduction in rig time.
The Result
Integrity maintained allowing all key operations completed without intervention, saving rig time and operational costs.
